duplicated content

Because this( www.hikashop.com/forum/4-how-to/53780-av...que-product-url.html ) topic about duplicated content is pretty old i create a new topic

The product page of every product has often a different url, from the productlisting, checkout page and cart module.
I know this is the way Joomla works.

Could it be possible to force every product page to one single menu item?
This way every product page, from the modules and components are forced to the same url.
This way i could create a menu item called detail and force all links to this menu item.
The url would look like this: www.domain.nl/detail/product/product-name

The site contains over 400 products wich makes it really difficult to redirect every single page.

Hi,

You have to create a menu of the type products listing which allow to reach all the product, so select the main category and allow all the elements.
Then in Configuration > Features > SEF, select "Use canonical if specified" for the option "Force canonical URLs on listings" and set a canonical url for your products. This way all the url will take the product canonical url, and will be the same.

You can too select to generate the canonical url automatically if required, this way when you reach a product page from a menu, this will take this url and set it as the canonical one.
