show coupon code on invoice

Is there a way to show the coupon code used on an order on the printed invoice?

Can't find any reference to this on the forum or Google.

Yes. Edit the file "invoice" of the view "order" via the menu Display>Views and add such code:
<?php echo $this->element->order_discount_code; ?>

This looked easy but I have found that no matter what I edit the Invoice view with, it doesn't appear?

I did a little test and deleted ALL the content of the invoice view but the invoice then still showed up which suggests it's not being edited or saved at all?

I assume it should affect all orders and not just those created after the mod?

If you don't see any change when you edit the view file, it means that you're editing the view file for another template than the one you're using. Since it's in the backend, you need to edit the view file for your backend template ( "isis" I assume ).

No - that's not it. the backend is ISIS template and that's the one i edited although for proof I did edit the only other one on the list too.

Then, you're not talking about editing the invoice that you can get via the "invoice" button in the backend when you edit an order, or you have the PDF invoice plugin overriding the default invoice.

Please provide a screenshot of the invoice and a screenshot of where you click to reach it so that we can tell you what to edit.
