Affiliate % on sales = % on sales even cancelled

Hi Guys,

I have a problem, I have affiliate program in place, but when an order comes in from an affiliate link, it shows a commission of x% on all order status - not just confirmed... Even if I explicitly state ConfirmedX

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

As you can see in the configuration documentation ; you can specify the order status which will be used for the affiliate payment

My problem is, even if I set that to only show [Confirmed] - it is showing commission on anytrhing including orders that have been cancelled... Kind of like its not doing what I would expect it to

Yes ; but it does not mean that the partner can ask for that money.
It is the price that the affiliate can earn if the order is confirmed.

But dont you think that makes it confusing - to have an amount listed to Pay an affiliate even if the sale was cancelled - is there some way to remove these? Like a cron or something to make sure that only confirmed sales show partner commission?

I clearly don't see any specific problem or issue there.
You have the indication that the order has been made with an affiliation ; and what the affiliation total is.

Okay, they are two cancelled orders ; but these orders can be "created" or "refunded".
Why do you want to loose information, to loose knowledge just because of that ?

The orders are cancelled so you can't pay the affiliate for these ; it is just not possible.
But you still have the information that the order has been made with an affiliation ; you have the knowledge and you can still use it even if it's not to pay the affiliate (but for statistics or else).

So, there is no bug and no issue.

Now if you want to loose information, you can create a "mass action" to modify the orders are remove the affiliation data.
It is not something I'll recommend, like I just explain but it's your right.

Okay great I didnt realize that - it would be impossible to pay that... But for the aesthetics, client doenst want to see that in the orders listing and so I must make it disappear

So Mass Action, best approach? I just tried to do this and its deleted all of my cancelled orders not just the ones showing affiliate commission. Please give me some instructions on how to do this properly?

So I can still see cancelled orders, but that affiliate commission amount is blank or Zero

So you need to put a 0 in the field which store the affiliation price for the order with a cancelled status (and have something else than 0 for the affiliation price).
