Default product type

Hi,

How do I make Product Type 'Shippabel Goods' the default value instead of 'Virtual Goods* when creating a new Product?

Hi,

There is no product type "shippable/virtual goods", it is just a dropdown to hide or show the options weight/dimensions.
You can override the backend view if you want to remove that dropdown and always display the weight/dimensions options.
But the dropdown, is just there for cosmetic issue.

For me the same problem, i like to have the default product type "SHIPPABLE GOODS"
Now everey time I add a new product i have to change the product type from virtual goods to shippable goods.

Please help me

Make that +1 for me: I agree.

It might be good to have the option to hide weight/dimensions, but IMHO hiding something as default is likely to lead to irritations, so it should always be "unhidden" as default.
Presently it seems to be confusing for many users: I'm seeing quite a few questions/comments here, most if not all of them being unnecessary if the default were "shippable".

We'll have a new option in the next version of HikaShop to set the default product type.
That version will be released in a few days so you'll be able to update to it and set the option the way you want it.

In actual versio is Possible to define "Default product type".

But - even if the "Default product type" is set to "Shipable Goods",
when you import the products via CSV file - the Product type is automatically set to "Virtual goods"

It seems to be a BUG

- I will set Shipable Goods product type during import... so take it only as a notice

I have found the source of problems.

If product doesn't have weight - it is automatically set as a "Virtual goods"

...even if - if you manually set it to "Shipable goods" & you don't enterr any weight - then after saving it is it is "switched" to "virtual goods"

Now it is clear ...and also acceptable from my side
