HikaShop 3.0 Alpha is available was created by Jerome

HikaShop 3.0 Alpha is Out !

Many of you have been waiting for it since a long time, that's why we are pleased to announce the HikaShop 3.0 Alpha !

This is an unstable version : DO NOT USE IT IN PRODUCTION WEBSITE

As some of you already know, it is packed with a lot of new things:

New checkout system
New cart system
New backend dashboard
Integrated responsive grid system
Ready for web services !

Hi,

For the moment, only the starter is available (for everyone).
But when the "alpha" will become "beta" ; we plan to give access to the essential/business packages through the "my subscriptions" system.

Hi,

It is gone from the new checkout and the new add to cart system. The only place left is the carousel system. But if you don't use it, then you won't see it.
Note that you might still have it here and there in the Alpha as we're still working on it and the work is not finished. For example, the product content tags plugin still adds the mootools library to the page even though it's not necessary anymore. It will be removed for the final release thought

Any update on the next alpha version of even better a beta version. When can we expect an update ?

Hi,

Yes, one month ago we started the implementation of some other features in our TODO list for HikaShop 3 and we are almost done to release a beta version.
That version will include somes features like "infinite scroll", new backend interfaces (configuration, email, users...) and much more.

I'm still working on the refactoring of the "mass action" ; I have almost rewrote all the system and the plugins in order to unlock features which should be available for third party extensions to perform an integration.
As you might understand, that work is pretty big, the mass action system is around 9000 lines of code.

Do you release the beta also as Essential/Business version? Starter is useless for me because of the lack of essential features.

Hi,

As the rewriting of the mass action system is taking much longer than expected due to the shear amount of things to handle and its complexity, we've decided to pause it for the time being so that we can finish the HikaShop 3 release.

So we're expecting to release the beta in the next few weeks, and yes, it will include all the edition of HikaShop, not just the Starter.
However, it won't include the new mass actions system which will probably be added to HikaShop 3.1
And yes, we're planning on being able to have concatenation operations like {category_id}/{product_id}-{product_alias} with the new system so that it will be much more flexible.

Hi,

Due i have problems in checkout address selection and can only use popup. As per advise in my topic created i am waiting for hika 3 release. If possible could i have hikashop 3 alpha business version? So i could start modify it for time saving....

@kyratn : We don't have a Business version of the alpha available, so I'm afraid you'll have to wait a bit more.
