Hi Hikashopteam,

We have a question.
Our client received two days later after renewing a subscription a second e-mail that she have to renew her subscription.
When we look to the subscriptions we saw that she had two subscription. An old one almost deactivated and en new one.
So we found out that the second e-mail was activated by the old subscription.

So we did some test and it looks like we don't know what the options are to renew a subscription.

When we setup a renewal in Hikashop with "Renew or create" this product always create a new subscription and don't recalculate the new days.

When we setup a renewal in Hikashop with "renew" it doesn't work and we see this pop-up: No subscription data available for....... (see screenshot below)

When we renew on my account > subscriptions > renew : We found out it worked fine.
But that's hard to explain to client to renew your subscription.

Ideally, we would like to create a product with "renew," but that doesn't work, and using "renew or create" always generates a new subscription.

So can you please tell us what the options are and if we can use "renew" how we can use it, because it's not working in our situation.

Kind regards,
Lumiga

Hello,

Yes the renewal is made via the subscription listing so you can select the subscription to extends.
In the product page, it's not possible for HikaSerial to ask and store the information regarding the targeted subscription.
Thus, when you add a product into the cart, HikaSerial can't know if you want to extends one specific subscription so it will create a new one.

The fact that a product can "create" and "renew" is interesting with subscription payment plugins because the renewal becomes automatic.
But it can also be used for manual renewals, via the subscription listing.
