-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- HikaMarket Version --: 1.6.7

I searched for a while, but could not find how to assign vendor (not it's products) to one or more categories (just as you assign goods to several categories) and how to filter vendor listing by these vendor categories.

For example

Category Sellers:
Vendor 1, Vendor 2

Category Service Providers:
Vendor 1, Vendor 3, Vendor 4

So how to filter just vendors that are Sellers?

Hi,

You're using HikaShop 2.6.0 but which HikaMarker version number are you using ?

Hi,

So you have a feature called "extra categories".
You can configure these extra categories in the HikaMarket configuration or you can add extra categories for each vendor by editing them in the backend.

A vendor can have only one single "root" category, which can be his "vendor category" (a special category created automatically by HikaMarket).
If you want to provide them other categories to let them put their products into ; the extra categories are the best choice.

Yes, thank you, but my question is not about vendor products. My question is about finding a vendor. If there are hundreds of vendors how should the user filter them. Is there a way to categorise vendors.... just as you categorise products.

According to example above: If I search for vendor, that produces goods (not services) how could I limit vendor list just for those that sell goods. Here I talk about vendor list (no matter the products)

I would like to have vendor catalogue, so I need to categorise them. In other words it is just as categorising and filtering goods (but for the vendors).
Regards

Hi,

Okay ; thanks for the clarification !

Unfortunately, HikaMarket is not compatible with the HIkaShop filter system and due to the current filter system in HikaShop ; it won't be possible to HkaMarket to have an integration using plugins and triggers.
So the best is to use a plugin in order to perform a dynamic modification of the product listing query.
The idea is to handle the information of the selected vendor to create that filter manually.
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...reProductListingLoad

To let the customer select a vendor ; the best would be to use a custom module.
That module, depending the current displayed category (and the current menu configuration), could list the possible vendors and let the customer make some selection for the plugin.

It requires some development/PHP skills, but I think that for the moment it is the best way.
I still have some request in the HikaShop TODO list about a refactoring of the filter system so HikaMarket could integrate to it ; but there is already a lot of in-progress development for HikaShop 3.
