How do I show variants in the cart

I would like to be able to change the variant when in the cart module.
In general for all products with variants, I would like to show the variant selection in every place the product is shown

That's not possible as the data to do it is only loaded on the product page in order to keep good performances.
Well, you can always do it yourself by editing the views and adding a lot of code in it but that's not something we can provide on the forum as it's not a simple modification.
