This is normal. When going to the payment method site the order is created in HikaShop, and once paid the status is changed to confirmed. This can allow many things, for example you can allow the customer to pay their orders later via their user control panel, or thanks to an integration with Acymailing you can send emails to ask why the order was not paid, etc..
But if you don't want to keep the created order, you can set up a mass action to delete them every hours.
