Hi,

You'll find a few REST APIs here: extensions.joomla.org/category/mobile/mobile-apps/
hoicoi has something for HikaShop, and of course Harmis and Hika is made to work with HikaShop.

We're also working on our own REST API that we want to build in HikaShop. However, we're waiting for Joomla 3.9 / 4.0 because they'll have a buil-in REST API for Joomla and we would like to be as close as possible to it so that it is easy to integrate with HikaShop/Joomla. So it won't be before next year.

are you going to develop an mobile app too? I have my mobile app in Ionic, and always wonder if I can integrate hikashop into it.

Hi,

Maybe. But before the app, we need the web services. Once we have that, any mobile app developer will be able to develop such integration, and probably people better than us at it, since we're specialized in web, not app development.

Hello, is there any news on the topic of API? The last post was a year ago.

Hi,

We started something for it recently. Joomla 4 is late in the making which delayed that project for a few years, unfortunately.
Joomla 4 is to be released in a few weeks (the Release Candidate has been released a few days ago), and it will come with its own web service mechanism.
Extensions will be able to integrate with it.
So our goal is to integrate with that mechanism so that users and developers can have a smooth experience between Joomla's and HikaShop's web services.
A first documentation page has been added recently:
docs.joomla.org/J4.x:Adding_an_API_to_a_Joomla_Component
So it's a good starting point even though it's not usable as is as HikaShop doesn't implement the complete MVC system of Joomla (as HikaShop was first developed before that was available).
So don't expect anything usable in the next version of HikaShop. But I'm hopeful we might have something before the end of the year or beginning of the next.

Hello, today August 4, 2023. I would like to know if there is still no way to connect a hikashop API with an external app for data synchronization

Hi,

HikaShop still doesn't have a REST API.
However, if the external app has an API, you can build a HikaShop plugin to connect to that API for data synchronization. Many plugins for HikaShop do that alreasy, like for example the ShipStation or MyParcel plugins on our marketplace.
