-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5.1

I just update to the latest Hikashop version and it messed up my whole site layout. I starting to feel like hikashop from the old days, were every update used to mess-up my site.

How do I access copy 2.6.1 so I can revert the site back to the old version.

Just sick!

I just updated Hikashop 2.6.0 on my Joomla 2.5 site to the new version 2.6.2. It has broken the ability to display the products. I can display categories but when I drill down to order products under a given product, not only is there no products shown but it jumps to a different totally unrelated page that has nothing to do with Hikashop. In the administrator, I can see the products and they are in the appropriate categories.

Hi,

@tomhika :
Rest assured that we do our best, as before. And the version 2.6.2 has been tested, like previous releases, and like old releases.
I've checked your website but I didn't see any problem on your products listings or product pages. So I can't tell you anything useful since I don't see the problem and don't know what it could be and no one else reported such issues.
If you want an install package of an older version, please use our contact form to request it and make sure that you provide the edition and version you need.

@burtcbl:
This might indicate a problme with canonical URLs or something like that. Unfortunately, you didn't provide any like with the issue and/or any screenshots so I can't say anything useful other than we don't have such problem on our end.
Could you provide more information on your problem ?
Also, please open new threads for different issues.

Thank you for sending me the older version. That way my site looks correct while I investigate what the problem is.

Hi,

I did look at your product pages.
And no, I didn't see a problem: take.ms/qzQra
I went again and now I see that the problem is further below on the pages.
It has nothing to do with the reputation of our product. I said that I didn't see the problem because I didn't see it, that's all. Please try to provide precise information on your problems so that we can be more efficient.

From what I can see the problem is that there is a closing HTML tag missing somewhere on the product page on your website.
As the product layout has been heavily customized, it would well be a problem between the modifications we made to one of the view files of the product page and the customizations you have in place.
Or it could be a bug of the new view files.
But we didn't find the issue on our end and no one else reported it. So I'm inclined to think it might be a problem between the new layout view files and your customizations.
One easy way to find out is to rename the folder templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product via FTP.
If you still have the issue after that, then we'll have to fix something in the view files of the new version of HikaShop. If you don't, then you'll have to adapt your customizations to fit with the new view files of HikaShop. The first step for that will be to rename the files one by one in that folder and see if it fixes the problem until you identify the file that causes the problem. Finally, get the modifications you had added in it, and place them in the new version of the view file and you'll be back in business.

We try to have our changes to be bakward compatible as much as possible, but when there are big changes like in this release (all the product layout files have been modified to support microdata by default without the need for a plugin), it's possible that customizations could break after updates.

I appreciate the help and I understand your points. The brake down in explaining the problem is on me, I fail to show you a before / after view. Now with version 2.6.1 you can see the before view. If you look close at the layout as you see it on that picture you took is messed up, text is on top of the border, the layout is actually the responsive, and much more.

I found different route to solving the problem with my site. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

We've published a new install package of HikaShop which contains fixes for the microdata tags and attributes and it should hopefully fix all that. As always, you can download via the menu My account>My subscriptions and install it on your website in order to get the fixes.

Thanks for the fast fix. I actually installed 2.6.2 and fixed it for my site, so I'm going to wait before applying an update again.

There are double itemscope itemtype=" schema.org/Product ". I try it with clean protostar template.

Hi,

Such thing happened if HikaShop Microdata on Product Page plugin is enabled.
I compared product's view show.php and I see that the last version (com_hikashop_business_v2.6.2_2016-04-12_01-31-16) includes itemprop="Product" itemscope itemtype=" schema.org/Product ".
So hikashopproducttag adds second itemprop="Product" itemscope itemtype=" schema.org/Product ".
Will this plugin used by the future?

Do not worry, the real site works.
Thank you for your hard work

Hi,

You need to turn off the microdata plugin. The default views of HikaShop now directly have microdata attributes included.
That plugin is not needed anymore and will be removed in the future.

@almika Thanks for noting that issue with microdata, I had not notice that.

If it helps anyone else, what was causing my site's layout to brake was the way the microdata was hard coded on the layout of the products, the new divs used where causing the issue for me.

I used clearfix to solve my problems cssmojo.com/the-very-latest-clearfix-reloaded/

I'm still having issues with the microdata markup braking my site. I spend the whole weekend updating the site to a new template, from a different provider, and still have the same issue,
The microdata markup pushes the sidebar to the bottom, and that in turn brakes the site's layout. I see that it has to do with the microdata added to the product comments.

Anyway I can solve this persistent issue

Hi,

It looks like a problem of layout customization in your template.
Adding such CSS would fix the problem:
#t3-mainbody .row{ width : 74% !important; float: left !important; }
#t3-mainbody #t3-content{ width : 100% !important; }

But I think it might break some other styling. Try renaming the files one by one in the folder templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product via FTP in order to see which one is causing the problem and then reapply the modifications in that view override to the new version of the view file via the menu Display>Views and that should properly fix the problem.

Thanks again Nicolas.

You are correct, the problem had nothing to do with your product, Hikashop, or with the templates I used. The problem was the old overrides.

To anyone that falls into this post, and In fairness to Hikashop, Hikamarket, Nicolas, and Jerome.... The software is incredible, and well worth the price. As a user of Hikashop for some years now and recently Hikamarket I highly recommend the two products.
