Can you further explain this point in the new features of Change Log ?

While reading 3.1 Changelog I found this point in the new features list:

You can now use external images for your products.

Can you thoroughly explain what is this about?

Hello,

When you add an image for a product in HikaShop, you can decide if you want HikaShop to download the URL you gave or if you want to use directly the URL of the image.
In that specific case, HikaShop will use an external image and you won't have thumbnails for them.

Anyway I could use external image URL on products... And auto create the thumbnail on ie. page loading ..?... Would this be possible with a plugin of some kind?

Any other suggestions...

Because loading product images from external source slows down page loading of my site a lot.

Hello,

No it's not possible since it's external images.

If you want thumbnail, you have to upload the image or make HikaShop download the image.
Either way, the file would be in your server.
