[SOLVED] There is no multilanguage tag support

-- HikaShop version -- : 3.1.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.7.3
-- PHP version -- : 7.1.0
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 54.0.1

Unfortunately I did not find the possibility to set different tags for different languages. And this has nothing to do with content translation. In the product card there is only one field for tags. How can I display different tags for different languages?

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

Hello,

See : www.hikashop.com/forum/product-category-...duct-tag.html#274489
Tags are from the Joomla core ; they can't be multilingual.

Hello,

I do not quite understand you, which means "Tags are wrong the Joomla core"? The tags are part of Joomla docs.joomla.org/J3.x:How_To_Use_Content_Tags_in_Joomla ! and why I can select a language for each tag? If I could specify tags for each language on the product page, they would surely be multilingual.

Hello,

I fixed my typo.
It would be very long to explain why ; but the tags can't be multilingual unless you're duplicates all your products (but that's no more multilingual).

In connection with this, I have a question that I have long wanted to ask. Do you plan to abandon the use of a third-party add-on (Falang) for multilingual implementation in HikaShop? If multilanguage in HikaShop was implemented as well as it was done in Joomla itself, this problem would not exist. I do not like the idea of using a third-party application to create a multilanguage site, when in Joomla itself it's all there, I think using Joomla's native capabilities is the right way.

You can find several threads talking about that and I don't want to repeat again and again the same things.
To summarize :
1 - Maybe one day.
2 - There is no Joomla multilingual capabilities !

Hi

I have just come across this thread because we have come across this issue when testing. Weuser falang for multiple language management. When you view a tag with all the products listed the product names and descriptions are always in English not matter what language is selected.

Is this is an issue to take up with Faboba the falang developer?

Thanks, James

Hi,

It's an issue with how the tags system of Joomla is done.
The name and description of the product is stored in the ucm_content table when the product is saved.
When com_tags displays the results of a tag, it look into that table and directly takes the name and description from there without asking HikaShop.
And thus, HikaShop doesn't do any query to load the product information to give it to the tags system.
However, the way Falang works is that it looks are the MySQL queries and replaces the data based on the translations.
So Falang doesn't have anything to replace in that case.
You would need to have a contentelement xml for the ucm_content table so that you could translate the core_title and core_body columns of that table in Falang and in that case, they would be translated. But that's twice the work for you.

From my point of view, I would try as much as possible to not use tags. Instead, try to use a custom product field with a filter, or categories, etc.
