Can serial distribution be automated?

We will be pre-selling our product onsite and gathering email addresses of the purchasers. We want to bring that list of email addresses back and then send a mass email when the video is ready for download.

Here are my questions: Is it possible to do a mass email from hikashop, or would I need a different plugin? With that mass email, can I configure hikaserial to generate and insert a different code for each individual in the mailing list?

If I have 30 people purchase a product for download, can I mass email those 30 people with their individual coupon codes, or will I have to manually email each person to get the individual codes to populate?

If you do want to "mass email" then you want to use a newsletter system such as Acymailing.
Acymailing, HikaShop and HikaSerial are compatible and can work together in order to provide the feature you're describing.

I got Acymailing installed and the templates created, but I don't know how to format the tag so a random serial from a serial pack will populate in the email.

HikaSerial do install a plugin for Acymailing. Where XXX is the ID of the pack that you want to generate serials for.

When you will send a newsletter, HikaSerial will generate serials for the designated pack and send the serial code to the user.
The plugin do not read from an existing serial in the database, it requires a generator for the pack in order to work properly.
