How does serial pack generation work

I am a little confused about how HikaSerial should work.

I have created my pack of series generator plugin, which starts at 2001 and ends at 3000

I then created my pack using the 'Pack SQL Data' and the pack generator I created.

This pack is attached to a product.

I the stats show 0 serials available and 1 used (I went through the checkout process once)

Should I do something to actually generate all of my serial numbers?

I feel like I am missing a step here.

Hi,

You are using a serial generator so the serials will be created when it will be necessary.
If you want, you can use the "generate" button in the "pack edition" screen. But in your case, the serials will be generated automatically.

I was able to generate 1000 serial numbers. Which is all I need for now.

After Generating the 1000 serial numbers in my Pack can I set
Pack Data to 'No Pack data Provider'
Pack Generator to None

And then the system would proceed to use up the 1000 serial numbers that I created?

Later if I needed a few more serial number I could generate them and put the setting back to "off"

I think I am starting to get the hang of it.

If your populate your pack with the 1000 serials you needs, you can remove the generator from the pack configuration.
But don't touch to the "Pack Data", if you remove it, HikaSerial won't be able to retrieve the serial data from the database. So the pre-generated serials won't have any impact.

First HikaSerial get available serial using the "pack data" option. Then it uses the generator to create new one.
If you remove both options, HikaSerial will do nothing.
If you have just the pack generator, HikaSerial won't use or reuse a serial in the database.
