A couple of ideas for improvment.

1. Some of our customers buy product through financing and pay a small amount every month.
To begin with it would be nice if there was a possibility to punch in a monthly payment price for a product. This monthly payment plan should be placed under the Cash price.


2. Product description with multiple options.
a. Main product page short description and pricing info
b. Option to choose longer description
c. Option to see product technical specification
d. Warranty & Support information
e. Payment plans


3. Better checkout.

At the moment you have to put in buyer’s information then press register.
Then you have to choose Payment and wait for system to register your choice.
Then you have to choose shipping, where again you have to wait for system to register your choice.
If the buyer is to quick and servers don’t answer fast enough this creates a problem.

It would be better to have all three instances processed in one action.
The register button should be moved to the bottom of the checkout page and be the only step that takes you to the payment page.

4. Product images.
I like the option to have more than one image, this is a good feature.
I am missing a gallery function when image is enlarged. It should be possible to change image, when enlarged. Some kind of next and previous button.
At the moment the visitor needs to close the enlarged image to see the next.


Great job on this product we are getting more fund of it every day.

1. You're talking about a subscription feature. That's in the todo list already.

2. How would you see that ?Are you talking about having some tabs the user could click on to display different things on the product page like on that page ?

3. You can do that already. There is an option for the checkout workflow so you could move the login view at the bottom of the step. Then, turn off the auto submit of payment and shipping in that same tab of the configuration.

4. That's indeed something which could be nice and which isn't supported by the default popup system of joomla. We would have to integrate some other image display library like shadow box in HikaShop to have such thing.

2. Exactly. Having some kind of tabs showing different information is what I'm looking for.

Then you can already do that. You need to install one of the joomla content plugins like this one extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di...y/articles-tabs/1046 and you will be able to use the tabs in the description of your products.

I think that point 4 (being able to navigate through product images) is an important point, and something I've been thinking about for a while. Every other e-commerce system I've used before has this feature, and i think a lot of shoppers come to expect it now.

And Razavi, you can get some really cool product pages set up using the Tabs & Slides extension mixed with the {loadposition XXX} function in Joomla.

Note that you can already achieve point 4 by installing for example the ninja shadowbox module and then creating an image display override for HikaShop which uses ninja shadow box instead of the default joomla popup manager. More info about that there:

Thanks I tried the joomla plugin for the tabs and it works perfect.

Another Great to implement would be to enable price update in list mode.

Under product where you have your list of products, you can see the price, but it should also be possible to update the price in the list instead of having enter product edit page.

The problem is that you can have several prices for your products, with different currencies, different access levels, etc.
So displaying that on the listing won't be possible.

I have a simmular question to the above, on my site i have products in two categories SALES and RENTAL so for sales the standard each is ok but what about rentals as i wold like to show this as per day or week/month etc
