Ohantom Customers

Hi Nicolas,

My site is getting lots of signups from non-existent customers - they have emails like la.yt.ro.vm.ag.pe@gmail.com - they are not validating their sign-up but it is annoying. Could this be an error with the system, a virus on the site or a virus on someone's computer that's targeting the site?

I don't think it's a system error.
Someone has certainly made a script to create accounts automatically.

No, not necessarily.
Anyone can do this from his computer.

To avoid this, you can enable the captcha in joomla modules.
By this way, the automatic creation of account can't be realized.

You can use that captcha plugin for example:

Also, turning on the user account activation in the options of the joomla user manager can help.
