Trying to be buy one free item

I have only one product set up right now, and it is Zero price.

It's actually the redemption of a groupon-type deal that will be mailed out to them. So, it's already paid for, but we need to track it here.

The system is just presenting the item with the word "Free" and no option to buy it. I need them to go through the process of registering or logging in, and entering their billing/shipping address along with their voucher number from Groupon. Once they do that, we mail them what they purchased.

I think that your customers will just have to put the free item in their cart to go through the process of "checkout", so you'll just have to :

- Go to "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Display"
- Set the "Display 'add to cart' button for free products" to YES

hi, yes of course, that is what I do now, but then no costs of the payment method are calculated when a customer order a product that is NOT free. So I am looking for a solution where orders of one free product go without payment (which I believe would be logical), am I missing something?

If the total of the cart is 0, no payment methods should be displayed during the checkout.
That's working fine on our end. there is nothing to do to make it work, as far as I know.

hi, ok, I had the option on to automatically select the payment system, since I have only one (the Dutch standard Ideal) it was added to the cart with its cost also for the free product.
Hmm, I was looking for a way to have 3,50 Euro of standard costs added to each order for administration/handling fee regardless of the order and figured out the payment method cost for that.

Yes. Manual shipping method might also serve such purpose.
