Shipping and Taxes

Hi there,

Does any of your shopping cart offer the following for shipping and taxes.
Shipping by weight - cost is based on the weight of the order
Shipping by product - cost is based on the number of products
Taxes by region - taxes is charged depending on where the customer is located

Hi,

HikaShop handles shipping methods setting by weight, volume, regions, order price. It also handle taxes.
It doesn't handle the number of product per se, but you can cheat by setting a volume of 1 to each products and then use the volume restriction to accomplish a restriction on the number of products in the cart.

Is it possible to set shipping tax but only for certain products?

For example, just say there was no tax on any product (or the shipping) in my shop but Apples. In that case, we'd have to charge tax on apples and on the shipping for apples...but just for apples.

Mmm. The shipping tax is applied on the shipping method. There is no option to activate it or not based on the products in the cart. However, you could use the volume restriction of shipping methods to duplicate the shipping methods:
1 shipping method for when there are products with a volume (you set the dimensions of the product) and with taxes set.
1 shipping method for when there are no products with a volume and no tax set in the shipping method.

However, if you have both type of products in the cart, the tax will or won't be applied for the whole price of the shipping method.
