Assign User based on custom field in reg form

HI

This is a long shot but I was wondering if it is possible to assign a user to an access level based on a custom field on the registration form.

I have created a custom field assigned to User. The field has a drop down selection with 2 values: Customer and Reseller.

I have setup 2 access levels: Customer and Reseller.

On the registration form, if the custom field is set to reseller, then the person will be added to Reseller access level when they click Register.

That would require a user plugin to be developed.
