How to remove the quantity field/box from product

When viewing the product list all products are swowing a quantity field and customers can add a product without viewing the product page even the product contains mandatory fields. Please see here:

How can I hide the field/box?

I have been able to hide the box by setting as follows:

System->Configurations->Display
From Display settings for option "Display the quantity field on the product page" I selected "Ajax input"

And the problem was solved
