Could you please give more details about your needs ?
I am not sure to see the complete process of "product exchange".
Does it means that products don't have a price ? How vendors could make the exchange ?

It is an interesting feature.
If there is a Multivendor e-commerce site.
It is interesting to have a feature that can afford to show the item avaibility of the vendors and than can affor to manage the iten exchange between Two vendors:
Example:
Vendor A needs an iphone5 becouse he has no avaibility in your store. Vendor a can search the vendors that have in your store the iphone5 and than can send a request for this item.
Vendor B can answear at this request and send the item at the vendor A or like a dropshop directly at the client of the vendor A.
