can't select categories on front-end

Hi

The category tree is not displayed correctly on the product creation form (front-end).
When I click on "product category", the list expands but with again the root category.

Are you using a SEF extension ?
Because the tree is using an ajax call and replace dynamically a tag by the product id that you're expending.
But if the tag is not put "as it" in the url, (the tag contains curly brackets), the javascript can't perform the replacement and HikaMarket will not receive the category id during the ajax call.

I deactivated SH404 for Hikashop and Hikamarket (using Joomla router directly) and the categories came back in the tree.

Otherwise, you can remove the curly brackets in the "strip" setting of SH404 ; so you will continue to have nice SEF url and it will work with HikaMarket.
We will improve things for the SH404 compatibility in the next release.

I removed { and } from the list of characters to be removed by SH404 and it did not change anything.

Yes, logically it is what I meant (because I don't see a lot of options where you can find the {} ).
For the moment, please deactivate SH404 for HikaMarket ; I talked with the SH404 lead developer this week end during the JAB and I will make some modifications in order to avoid such kind of issue for the future.
But it will require some tests in our side (to be sure that it handle all cases) so it will be for the next release.
