Hello Nicolas,
We have detected an issue when we complete an order manually from the backend on behalf of a registered customer.
The scenario is the following:
  • A registered customer already has products in their cart.
  • The cart qualifies for automatic discounts based on the order amount and/or product quantity.
  • These are always automatic discounts, not coupon codes entered manually by the customer.
  • The customer contacts us because they cannot complete the checkout themselves and asks us to finalize the order from the backend.
When we complete the order from the backend, the automatic discounts that were applicable to the customer's cart are not preserved/recalculated, so the order is created without those discounts.
Is there any way to make HikaShop apply the same automatic discounts when we complete the order from the backend, so that the final order keeps exactly the discounts the customer would have received through the frontend checkout?
If this is not currently possible by default, could you please let us know whether there is a setting, workaround, or small customization that could achieve this?
Thank you.
Best regards,
José Ángel

Hi,

Automatic discounts based on the order amount or the number of products are coupons with the "Auto load" option, and HikaShop applies them when it calculates a cart. The order screen of the backend (Orders > New, then adding products) only prices the products for the customer you select, with the product discounts (Discounts menu) of that customer; it never adds an automatic coupon by itself.

Since your customer already has the products in their cart, the way to keep exactly what they saw on the checkout is to create the order from that cart: go to Customers > Carts, open the cart of the customer and click on the "Create order" button in the toolbar. The order is created from the cart, with its automatic coupon, the shipping and payment methods and the addresses chosen by the customer, and you can then edit it in Orders as usual. The cart itself is not emptied, so you may want to delete it afterwards.

There is one case where that button still loses the discount: when the automatic coupon is restricted to some user groups (its "Access level") or to some customers. The backend checked the restriction against your administrator account instead of the customer of the cart, so the coupon was refused. We have prepared a correction so that the coupon is checked for the customer of the cart. You can download the install package of HikaShop on our website and install it on yours in order to get the modifications.

Until you have it, for an order where the coupon is missing, open the order, click on Edit in the "Additional information" area and enter the coupon code and the discount amount on the coupon line; after saving, the order total should take it into account.
