Enter zip code for UPS shipping fee before login

is there a possibility that the user can enter the zip code for ups shipping fee (ups shipping plugin) before log in?

I want to say that everything is possible but it will require development.
The UPS (and USPS, Fedex, etc) shipping plugin uses the user address to determine the shipping costs.

It could be possible with some modification in the system that the user could enter an address when he isn't logged but it will touch some HikaShop core files.
It is not a simple modification, it requires good development and PHP skills.

We have the same issue. Customer has to log in to see the shipping fee with UPS.
Is there now a solution for this problem, that the customer at the checkout enter the zip code to get the shipping fee before login.

No solution so far on our end. Having a shipping quote system is something we want to do in the future but as Jerome said, it's not easy. For now, it's on our todo list.

It is required for our project, so I guess we will start coding. Seems like we wouldn't be the first company to go down this road.

Please let me know if you are successful. Maybe we could ask others to joint us with small donations.

A little hint about the implement of such feature ; since october 2013 we made some improvements on the subject (even if the complete feature is not there yet).

You can see to use the function "getShippings" in the HikaShop class shipping.
By giving it an order object (a cart with a little more details) you can get the list of the shipping methods.
You can see an example of code to retrieve the shipping in the HIkaShop checkout controller ; it first get the cart using the "$cartClass->loadFullCart(true);" function and then it load the shipping class and get the corresponding shipping.
In the cart object, there is a "shipping_address" which is used by the plugins ; but be careful because some shipping plugin require a full valid address and could refuse to provide shipping methods with a fake/invalid address.

The UPS shipping fee only need the zipcode for the shipping cost calculation.
Is the a way to have in the second step after "cart" of the checkout process some kind of "guest" registration only with a field for the zipcode for the shipping cost calculation. The next step is then
"shipping" with UPS shipping cost. After this step then the proper "login" or registration. And after this then the cart with shipping cost.
