Hi,
We licensed the Hikashop essential, as it mentions that translations can be used, but when we ry to add a category or product, there's no Language selector to set that specifi category or product to a language.
Tried to find in the documentation how this is done but unsuccessfully.
Are we missing anything?
Thanks

Hi,
The multi language integration in HikaShop requires an external multi language component like Joomfish or Falang.
You have to activate the multi language option in the HikaShop configuration and then, you will have the language selector like you can see in our demo website.

Thanks Jerome,
Unfortunately the Falang extension throws several errors and breaks some of te pages. Kind of looking a way around to make this working

Hi,
I am sorry, we are only integrated with Joomfish and Falang.
The Joomla native multilanguage system does not allow us to change only specific language part of products ; it requires to duplicate all products (so different product id and product code).
That's why we have integration with these two language components.

Hi,
Joomfish is obsolete for Joomla3.
Falang has errors and does not support all extensions (EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss ...)
Are you going to make Hikashop compatible with the Joomla 3 standard system multilanguage?
Thanks,
Best regards,
Jose A.

Hi,
HikaShop is already compatible with the Joomla 3 multilanguage system which consists in creating one menu/product/category/article per language. We just don't recommend it as it's a lot of work to create and maintain compared to having simply translations of the content via Falang/JoomFish.
If Falang has errors, I invite you to report them to the developer. He is quite pro active in fixing them and regarding the support of other extensions, it just require the creation of a small xml file (which is actually almost the same as the xml for JoomFish) so it should be easy to add and you can always ask the Falang support for help on this.
