Hi HS
I would just like to know what you would do in this situation with my website.
I have a section for a product with which has various variations of colors so the possibilities would be endless.
Ok so my section is for candle lamp sets as you can see here :
indieweb.co.za/enduredesign/index.php?op...lamp-sets&Itemid=236
So in each of these sets the customer will be able to choose what color saucer and what color lamp they would want e.g. "client wants 2 green saucers and 1 red saucer, 2 red lamps and 1 orange lamp"
So how would you with Hikashop set this up?
I was thinking of placing a text box so the client can type in text of what colors they want....
What do you guys think?
Thank you very much for your time on this

To add to this, is there a way to set up a product like this:
So for 5 lamps the price will be say up to $7.00 but after that and the customer starts adding more lamps the price will be added at the normal rate of $14.00? can this be done?
Thanks

Hi,
A text box (custom field of the table "item" and of the type "textarea") is a potential solution. The issue with that is that the user might not wrote a valid choice and you will have to talk with him to see what he really wanted.
In your case, I would look at creating a specific product with all the potential choice of colors/type as variants. I would place that product in an unpublished category so that it doesn't display on your products listings. Finally, I would add it as many times as needed in the products as an "option".
Regarding the price changing after 5 options selected, I don't see a solution.

Hi Nicolas, thank you so much for your input, much appreciated.
"A text box (custom field of the table "item" and of the type "textarea") is a potential solution. "

Thanks

Hi,
You have to create a custom field via the menu Display > Views, this kind of custom fields are available in the business version only.
