Google Products Plugin - Truncate Description

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.2

Google Shopping is complaining my product descriptions are too long.
Unfortunately these descriptions do not contain a Readmore tag so I cannot use this option from the plugin.
Is there a code modification that would allow to systematically truncate the product description in the XML file to for example 255 characters?

Also, is there a documentation or an example showing how to use the new functionality to add shipping prices in the XML?

Hi,

To have a readmore button, you have to enable the plugin "Button - Readmore" it's a editor-xtd plugin type.
This way you willo be able to add the desired tag to truncate your descriptions.

Regarding the prices, have you read this documentation:

Thanks I got all my products descriptions updated with a readmore tag, regenerated the XML, uploaded to Google Merchants.
It is not complaining anymore.

With regards to the documentation it does not mention the 2 new functionalities from version 2.3.2

The Google Products plugin now supports the "identifier exists" attribute of products
The Google Products (Merchant) plugin now supports shipping rules for products in the XML feed

In the plugin settings you should find the parameter "Identifier exists" and all is explained in the description:

Identifier exists" description="Tells google if an identifier (brand, gtin, mpn) exists for your products (you can use either 'TURE' or 'FALSE' and no other value is allowed). If you enter here the column name of a custom product field, it will use the value of the custom field for each product allowing you to have a identifiers for some products and not for others.
