Hi,
Activate the "Simplified breadcrumb" option of the configuration and you won't have that parameter in the URLs.

Hi,
I actually DON'T want to have simplified breadcrumbs activated.
The reason being if it is activated the breadcrumbs module it self is displayed oddly, no category trace in the breadcrumbs and I do need the categories trace in the module.
But I don't want 'category_pathway' in the url either as it is not user friendly.
What can be done to improve this?
Thanks.

Hi,
So you can let the simplified breadcrumb option disabled.
For the urls, you can create a menu listing all the shop products and use that url as canonical url.
Then in Configuration > Features > SEF for the option "Force canonical URLs on listings" select a value to use the canonical url.

Hi,
You can remove that parameter by editing the php, that's not a problem. It it will result in the pagination looking exactly like when you have the simplified breacrumb setting activated.
All that setting does is that it adds or removes that parameter.
And that parameter is necessary for the breacrumb system to display in "non simplified mode".
Having that parameter in the URLs is not a problem for the SEO so if you want the breadcrumbs like that, I would recommend to keep the parameter in the URLs.
