Update error on install - not building admin menu

We have just tried to do an update on an existing Hikashop install and the component seems to have been installed correctly, but the admin menus are not building properly.

We get a long string of error details - see screenshot.

We have the PHP version 5.5.23, Joomla 3.6.3 and hikashop at 3.6.4

Any suggestions appreciated.

This probably indicates that you have a problem with your Joomla menu structure.
So check that you have the root menu in the #__menu table in your database. If not, add it as explained here:

After that, click on the "rebuild" button of the Joomla menu manager and try the install of the update again and it should work.
