Category links url names in category list module. was created by apa2014
Hi.
I have made a Category list module the shows a list of all sub categories.
I looks fine and i show all the right categories.
But i point i one of the category items i the list, the link says /children/category/ name of the category
Schould i not be /women/name of the category
In the fist i mistake that something happen in the import, where i used the impression "children" in the process to make the children category
However - i just tried to make a new category ( there are a sub category of the main category) and made a sub category, this done by hand so to speak.
But it still do the same = /children/category/categoryname
I have looked in the DB - #category table can cant find any "children" an all category Id and parent category id seems to match
In my category list in the back end there are a folder icon widh 3 dots , nothing happen when i click on it is this normal ? Or it a sign of something are wrong ?
If all are as it should be, how to gain my main wish - that the url is eg women/footware and not /children/category/categoryname
Regards

Hi,
The "children" text in your URL doesn't come from HikaShop.
It comes from the SEF system of Joomla. It's the alias of the current menu item used on the page.
If you want women instead, you need to change the alias of the menu item to that in the Joomla menu manager.

Hi,
I have looked at the issue,
I can´t find anything there can refer to joomla menu item regaring alias or find any joomla code there insert "children"
As you can see on the images, if you have a joomla menu item as sub to a other menu item the url is /women/ xxxxx
In the Hika module where I have hika categories the url is children/category/name of the category.
Among the ( for the user) confusing url it do not show the same layout,
In the menu item link shows some modules
In the Hika category list module it not shows the module and filter
I have tried to make some new categories by hand ( not import) the it is the same issue. it inset "children"
I have done this:
Made a menu item hika product listing named "women" IT shows all products in the category and all subcategories of "Women"
Due to the needs i have made joomla sub menu items ( hika product listing) for each sub category of "women"
At first i made a standard joomla menu module to show all the sub categories of "women" however i did work since the hika shows all standard modules in all hika pages including product page.
So the solutions was that i made a hika content module there show all the sub categories in "women" - This works fine but there are the issues as mention above.

Hi,
As I explained the text "children" in the URL comes from the alias of the menu item used for the link.
If it's a link from a HikaShop categories listing module, then it comes either from the "canonical URL" that you have set in the category, or, if empty, from the "menu" setting configured in the module settings.

Hi,
I have no canonical URL at any category.
But i more and more convinced that issue come form the import of the products and categories i properly done i wrong.
The reason why i think that is i tried to made some new categories with a sub category.
By this the url looks like this:
Joomla menu: /name of menu item
Breadcrumbs: home->name of menu item
Joomla submenu item /name of the main menu item /name of sub menu item
Breadcrumbs: home->main menu item->sub menu item
The submenu item is a hika product listing of the sub category (sub of testcat1)
When i use the hika content module to made a category list the link look like this:
testcat1/product/listing/sub1-testcat1
Breadcrumbs: home->testcat (when choose-see image) and not home->testcat1->sub1-testcat1
In the hika content module i have set the menu to testcat1 ( or else it refer to a hidden menu item for the module id)
And i have set "simplified breadcrumbs" to no, have also tried to set it to yes, but no diffrent in the breadcrumbs
So now is the question
How to set it up so at least the breadcrumbs are correct and it would be nice to show the url without the /product/listing element.
Reagrds

Hi,
What you need to do is to put the URL Joomla submenu item /name of the main menu item /name of sub menu item as "canonical URL of the category and make sure that the "force canonical URL on listing" setting is set to "Use canonical URL if specified" in the HikaShop configuration.
That way, the module will use that URL for the URL of the category, overriding the automatically generated URL based on the "menu" setting of your module.
