Error 1064 after saving a characteristic

Hope you can assist.
I've been adding characteristics to my Hikashop products with no problem however after adding and saving a new characteristic I received the above error message (1064).

Now on the front end product page I have a rogue "Select an Option" box in my characteristics field (Currently under the SSD option). Would you be able to assist me with removing this? This is only resident on this particular product page that i've noticed, maybe a bug? is there a way to remove?

I suppose that you're using the 2.3.5 version of HikaShop ?
In that case, replace the file administrator/components/com_hikashop/classes/product.php with the one in the archive and that should fix the problem. We'll also add the fix in next version of HikaShop.

I get the same error when I made a new custom field, open an existing product, enter a value and save the product. I use version 2.4.0 business edition (downloaded yesterday).

This is the error upon save: '1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE p.product_id IN (8,9,10,11)' at line 1 SQL=INSERT IGNORE INTO rdjla_hikashop_product '

When I open the product again, enter a value and save it again, the error is gone.

I uploaded the product.php file you provided here as a download, but now the backend of the custom fields is messed up. Please help.

I reinstalled the business edition, so the backend is o.k. again. But the error comes back every time I save a product.

The error you got is different and if you're using the latest HikaShop package, the product file provided by Nicolas is not useful.
Please provide us details about your current configuration (hikashop version number, joomla version number).

About your screenshot, you got a PHP fatal error, you should check your PHP error log or set temporally the "error reporting level" to "maximum" in your Joomla global configuration in order to see the error message.

I've set error reporting on maximum.
Tried to recreate the problem by adding a new custom field and use it in an existing product, and now the product saves correctly.
Bizarre ????
