Limit choose of options
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.1
Hello
I need to sell a product that have a lot of options (hundred) but the client can only choose 10 of them. not less and not more. Also he can choose twice or more from the same option (so I need a dropdown for quantity). The client can go on only after he choose 10 options. Is there a way to limit the options and to add a dropdown to each option in hikashop?
Thank you

Why not create ten option dropdowns, one for each choice of the user and provides him with all the possible choices in each dropdown option ?
It sounds like it would meet your requirement, altough it would display differently as there is no system to select a quantity for options.

Is there any way to show different individual options and once one of the options has been picked the user cannot add any more options?
The website I am creating is for real estate catalog. The product is a Lot ( a parcel of land ) to build a house on. The options are House Plans that can be built on the land. The site visitor has the option to pair a House Plan with the Lot to make a package then add the package to their wishlist for further consideration.
This is how I have it set up:
- Each Lot has a base price
- Each House Plan adds to the price to complete the total cost for building a house including the land
- When a visitor goes to the Lot details page related House Plan options are listed below
- It works in reverse as well. When a House Plan detail page is visited then related Lot options are listed
- Inside the Vendor Edition product panel Options and Related Products settings are mirrored, so if someone wants to know more about a House Plan option they can click the related product for full details.
This is working wonderfully..what I really like about this solution is that a vendor only has to set up their House Plans as products once. Using the Vendor Edition control panel, while setting up a Product they simply mirror the Options and Related products settings. Very simple for the user to do.
The only drawback I am facing with this configuration is a visitor can add multiple House Plans to a Lot, I don't want this because only 1 house can be built on a lot.
Thanks for your help!

@Carolek
When you configure your options products, you add a characteristic with all the values you want in the dropdown as choices. If you don't have a "no" value in it, you won't have a non selectable option.
You can use custom item fields yes, but the custom item fields can't change the price of the product and can't have stock management. If that's not required, then I would actually recommend custom item fields over options yes.

There is no native function for such feature but it is possible to add it using view override and custom plugin.
The view override for some javascript addition, so when the customer will select an option, the other options will be "blocked".
The custom plugin in order to check the additions/modifications in the cart to just authorize one option per product.

I don't need to change the price or have stock management. But I need to have discount if the client order more. Like this:
2 for 10 $
3 for 18 $
4 for 25 $
Is that possible?
Thanks

Sorry, I don't really understand the issue. You say:
But as Jérome said, it is possible thanks to:So I understand from you that there is no way to make an option required in Hikashop.
So as said, this make the option required. When you configure your options products, you add a characteristic with all the values you want in the dropdown as choices. If you don't have a "no" value in it, you won't have a non selectable option.
To have a discount on the product based on the quantity bought, you can add many prices on the product and set a minimum quantity for each prices, this way you will have discount based on the quantity.
