Category has to be unique ? was created by davey
-- HikaShop version -- : 1503231728
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.1
-- PHP version -- : 5.4
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : IE FiereFox etc
Is it correct that a sub category has to be unique ?
We notice that when we make the same named sub categories in different root categories that the categories get mixed up.

It looks like a problem with the "alias" of the category, that has to be unique to work as expected.
Maybe a check or option that looks of a category alias exits ?

Hi,
Nor the category name, nor the category alias have to be unique as long as the "remove category and product ids from URLs" setting is turned off in the HikaShop configuration as the system will rely on the ids.
If however the ids are removed, then the system can only base itself on the alias and thus it has to be unique if you want to access the different elements.
We've actually added such check already for HikaShop 2.5.0
