Characteristic Limitations?

We want to use the filter and search characteristics.

However Hika only allows ONE characteristic per type, how do we go about this if we want to assign multiple char's per product for same type?

I don't understand what you mean.
If you follow our documentation on characteristics, you create one characteristic (color for example) with all the values you need (red, blue, yellow, green, etc). Then, you add that characteristic to your product, and under the variants tab of the product, you generate all the variants for that characteristic.

What is the problem with that ?
When you add the variants of the product under the "variants" tab, just select the colors you want available for that product. The others won't appear.

Hika wouldnt let me assign two characteristics to the same product.

I used Custom Fields instead, seems to address our needs.
