Tabular product layout needs help

Hello,
As you can see by the attached image, the description showing up under the image is being covered up by the tabs. How can this be corrected?

Second, the tabs themselves are very difficult to see... is there a way to change the color(s) of the border to each, or the background of the engaged tab to better define them?

Thank you, and I will look into this link for modifying the tab colors, but what I am confused about is why the description is overlapping the tabs? This has not been modified and I would think that if a tabular layout is made available that it should not behave this way straight out of the box. Even if I reduce the text it is still overlapping. Is there a way to just turn off the description under the photo and only have it in the tab area?

Hard to say for us. We don't have that problem on our end, and you didn't provide a link to the page, so all we can say is a generic answer.
In fact, by default, the small description before the tabs does not even appear as there is CSS to hide it in HikaShop by default with such CSS:
#hikashop_product_description_main_mini{ display:none; }
So this can only mean that the CSS has been modified and/or the CSS of the template is interacting with the display of the product page.

I guess that there is some missing Css in your template, just add this kind of css command
