You need to enter a "title" and a "value" in the "values" area of the settings page of your custom field.

Great that worked, the only issue is the field is not required to add the product. How do I make it so that if I do not check the accept checkbox, the add to cart button is not enabled? I only want them to be able to add the product to cart if they check the box.

Hi,

Well, I created a custom field similar to what you did and I did get the error message when trying to add to the cart the product with that checkbox unchecked.
So I went and checked on your website, and it works fine too as far as I can see:

Thank you, I did not notice the message being different at teh top, I thought it would show an error message next to the check box. I assume that is not possible?

Hi,

That is possible.
You just need to configure the "HikaShop cart notify plugin" via the Joomla plugins manager to display the messages next to the add to cart button instead of displaying in the corner.
