Add to cart popup not displaying

When clicking/tapping the "add to cart" button on the product listings or single product pages, the item is added to the cart, but the popup does not display. The pages refreshes and the URL changes to /book-store/action-training?popup=1 or /book-store/action-training/product/advanced-steel-dvd?popup=1 depending on the view. The console log in the browser displays this error: ReferenceError: hikashopModifyQuantity is not defined.

I have tried the various "Popup" modes in the HikaShop configuration and have also adjusted the "Add to cart notification" plugin settings, but nothing is working.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hi,

You're using the legacy add to cart system.
Turn off the add to cart legacy setting of the HikaShop configuration and it should work better.

Under Configuration > Legacy Settings, “Add to cart legacy” is set to “No”. I would assume this means that it is disabled. Would a template override from a previous version of HikaShop be conflicting with the pop up functionality?

Yes it's possible, to check this you can switch for a default template like ProtoStar to see if that solve your issue.
But take care that you haven't yourself create an override from old HikaShop views.

To check this, from HikaShop Main Configuration, go to Display dropdown => Views



If you see a little trash icon, try to keep this custom view on your side (in order to don't loose your custom code), and try to remove this override view, to see if that solve your issue (with your current template).

It depends what part you want to change.
If it's just the text you want to change, you can use translation overrides:
www.hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify
If it's the look, then you can add CSS code on your website:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...ize-the-display.html
If it's the behavior (how long it appears, should there be a redirect to the checkout), then you can find settings to control that in the HikaShop cart notification plugin via the Joomla plugins manager.
If it's something else, then you might have to change the file plugins/hikashop/cartnotify/cartnotify.php or another file which controls the way the modal displays.
