Perhaps the answer is quite simple, but I cannot find out where it goes wrong.

When I go to the webshop via home, all categories are neatly lined up (maximum 4) next to each other, so it goes well.


When I click through from the category and go to the products, the products are not next to each other but below each other.



Anyone an idea what this could be due to?

Well, a simple reason would be that you configured the number of columns under the "products options" tab of the menu item to 1 and thus you get 1 column.
But it might be a CSS issue with your template.
Hard to say for sure without a link to the page with the issue to check what's going on.
Could you maybe provide such a link ?
