Hi Once you have added an item to the cart and go to checkout if you choose the guest checkout (Buy Now
Fast Checkout - No Account button) the required fields checks are set to the open account version and not guest checkout.

for example you fill in first and last name , the field check is for name ( which is part of the create account and hidden from the user.

We have just installed Falang and I reinstalled Hika shop to get it working. This looks like the only error we have now.

Also just oticed too that the postcode /Zip is ot required? it should be!

thanks

Solved the postcode! go to display and just change the setting there

Still cannot get the Switcher to check the correct fields!

Hi,
Can you show me how did you configured your checkout workflow ("Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout") through some screenshots ?

I have attached here. I have played with the check out config

Returning customer on/off
And checking/unchecking the following
Create New Account
Simplified registration
Simplified registration with password

but all with guest ask for name field.

This is an Edit
It's not working so I've turned of Guest as I think it's losing sales. I'm happy to turn on again just give me a heads up so I can turn on

Edit number 2!
I really like the guest login and I believe that customers should have the choice.
I now have the set up running
with create account running with Simplified registration so the fields are the same and therefore the checks are not conflicting. I'd love the switcher to work as it was. Please give me a shout and I'm happy to put it back to the above config to get it working

Hi,
I just tested it on my end, and it worked fine, so can you please download the last Hikashop version through our website, install it, and test it again ?
Thanks.

Hi
It is because I have set the system to simplified registration rather than normal. as the fields are the same as guest it's working!
If you can PM me a time you could take a look I'll switch it back to the normal account set up.
Sorry but we are taking orders.
All the best
Steve

Hi,

I am trying to reproduce your error with "Registration + Guest" in the switcher.
I am using the latest HikaShop 2.3.0 build (updated few days ago).

When my browser pre-fill the username+password, I can't validate the guest mode because the script think that we started to validate the registration (because there is a password filled).
If I empty that field, I am able to finish the guest mode and continue the checkout.

So basically, I am not able to reproduce your problem.
I can't say that the latest 2.3.0 package will fix the problem, I see some fixes for the checkout but I can't guarantee that there is something for that specific part. But I know that Eliot worked on it end of last week.
If you want us to take a look, the best will be to have an access to your backend so we will be able to activate/deactivate the feature in a short time.
You can give us some "best schedule" and we will see to make our test in this period.

Hi,

So, your problem is solved ?
Because you sent me a private message so I am not sure of what I have to understand and do :)

It does not work for any registered user, not just for admin. They should not be required to login when 'Login' is set to No.

@dwarkamai

It is not because the "login" is set to "no" that HikaShop remove the "login" feature in Joomla.
It is just that we do not propose to login during the checkout. But you can call the "com_user" controller in Joomla and do a login. We can't block that.

You just have to use email which are not used by an existing Joomla user.
It is a limitation in HikaShop due to Joomla account system.

I think HikaShop is trying to register the email and you hit the error that the User is already registered.

Is it not possible to skip the registration when the configuration is set to Registration=Guest.

OK, stepping back our requirement is that we do not require the user to login but like to capture the email and address in the order. It is not possible to create a workflow which has address without login in the first place. Can that restriction be lifted? Guest users can provide the address which is saved as part of the Order, simple. Makes sense?

Hi,

For guest checkout : Do not use an email which is already used by a Joomla user.
That's just what I said and I ask you. Please follow this simple rule.

Thanks !

No that was in answer to dwarkamai question!

Truncator is working but the switcher is not a slick as I'd like.
It's working because joomla is making up the password not the user.
The best solution would be back to normal account creation and Guest login.
If you choose those from the config.
IT drops back to the guest user having the field checks of an account and as they cannot see those fields they cannot buy

Whether the visitor is a Guest or a Registered User, I do not control that as a site developer. They simply enter their email and address as part of checkout and Hikashop should make no attempt to register the email ID and fail the checkout. It should simply record it as part of the Order, that is what I am asking for.

Thanks

I found a workaround for this.

1) Delete all customers from Hikashop
2) Disabled user account plugin in Joomla, so no new customers are created.
3) Set login to NO and use only Guest option on Checkout.

Works for my use case for all users.

Cheers
