translation for PRICE_BEGINNING is suddenly (?) shown everywhere

On our website we sell activity-weeks. For families it starts at a price for 1 adult and 1 kid. So I translated PRICE_BEGINNIING to "vanaf" (dutch word for "starts at").
When you add another adult of child, the price goes up.

Now it seems that PRICE_BEGINNING is used differently. Because at first "vanaf" was only shown as the starting price (price without any options), but now it is shown for every price. See the picture (green is correct, red is not).
To be honest I have never noticed it before, so I am almost certain this was not how it was before.
Am I right? And than how can I solve my issue: I want to see "vanaf" only at the starting price, and not by the rest of the options.

PRICE_BEGINNING is added at the beginning of every price displayed on the frontend.
So it is normal you see it like this. It has always been like that.
If you only want it on the product page before the price at the top, then, I don't recommend doing it with a translation override.
You should rather add your text just before the display of the price in the product / show_default view, via the menu Display>Views.
