FedEx packaging type error

I can't say for sure that anyone has, over the last 2 years, used FedEx, but, as this client ships a lot of stuff both nationally and internationally, I will guess it's been used previously.

Today a customer of theirs tried using FedEx to Perth, Western Australia (my client is in Folsom, CA) and they got the error:

"The FedEx request failed with the message : Packaging type missing or invalid"

I confirmed that the plugin is showing at least an international shipping FedEx International First ().

Ideas on what's causing this please?


EDIT: Client NOW tells me that the settings were wrong (hmm and why won't it work???). So, added the new settings - Meter ID, API and PW. While I can now get past the shipping screen, the same error message appears and I don't know if the postage rate is even correct.

As it's said on that error message, your issue is coming from the fact that one of your shipping services isn't compatible with how you have set the "Packaging type" option through your FedEx configuration page.

I changed it from FedEx Box to Your packaging. This still threw an error, but different:

The FedEx request failed with the message : Service is not allowed".

Changed to FedEx Pak. That goes back to the original error - "The FedEx request failed with the message : Packaging type missing or invalid" Last hope, FedEx Tube. Failed with the missing or invalid error. So ALL options fail, both international addresses and USA addresses.

However, if you wait a few seconds you're able to select either USPS or FedEx as a shipping option and proceed.

In your case, the FedEx services that are compatible with your FedEx packaging type are showing, and if a published service is not compatible, that will display an error.
The solution can just be to create TWO FedEx shipping method, but with different packaging type and services, so that each services will be compatible with the selected packaging type.

There are 4 possible types of packaging in the plugin. NONE work. I could create 4 different FedEx options but they will all fail.
