Linking to the last visited category

Is there a way to link to the last category visited, after having started the checkout process? Question from a client's client...

You can already have a generic "continue shopping" button displayed on the checkout with the "Continue shopping button's URL" setting:

Do you mean that you would have a similar button on the checkout, but that its URL would change to the last category visited instead of a fixed URL ?
While there is no option for that, a small development work would allow for this.

Thank you for the quick response. Yes the client is looking to allow the customer to get back to the last category visited. The site is for a printing shop and each category is actually a team store so there is very little cross over from from category to another. What are we looking at for cost to develop such an option?
