Paypal payment plugin adaption to nee paypal API was created by tgdkere2

I have been contacted by paypal, that they want to migrate all customers from the Web Interface to their API Interface.
We need a paypal payment plugin, that supports the new API interface (like the one used in Express checkout plugin).
Can you modify or add a standard paypal payment plugin that supports the paypal API ?
The Express plugin has several restriction:
Not listed like the others payment methods in the "standard" payment process
No order status can be changed
Credit card payment did not work (only paypal login)
With the new API interface, the problem of missing APN paypal notification should also disappear.
So this is in my opinion important.
Thanks and best regards

Hi,
The Express Checkout PayPal plugin does support credit card payments and do change the order status to confirmed. But yes, it is not listed as a standard payment method since the goal of PayPal Express is to skip the checkout on the website.
Also we already have many other payment plugins for PayPal: PayPal Advanced, PayPal Adaptive, PayPal Pro and PayPal Website Payments Pro Hosted.
All four are listed as normal payment methods, supports credit card payments and change the order status of the order. Among them, PayPal Pro doesn't require IPN payment notifications.
Frankly, I'm sick and tired of PayPal coming up with a new payment gateway every year with a completely different API each time. We already have 7 different payment plugins, only for them. I don't know what new API interface you're talking about but if it's this one developer.paypal.com/docs/api it's completely different from the one used for PayPal Express Checkout and will require yet another payment plugin to be developed from scratch and it won't be a simple one.

Nicholas. This is the email 4 of my clients have gotten. I assume every person using your shop and paypal are effected.
from your last post is this something you are willing or able to provide a paid fix for or are we all left to figure this out.
I agree Paypal cna be aggricating but is is not the onlu one being effecetd by this.
it sounds like a protocol with Bluepay and many others so this is a common issue right? we are all in this together....
As we have previously communicated to you, PayPal is upgrading the certificate for www.paypal.com to SHA-256. This endpoint is also used by merchants using the Instant Payment Notification (IPN) product.
This upgrade is scheduled for 9/30/2015; however, we may need to change this date on short notice to you to align to the industry security standard.
You’re receiving this notification because you’ve been identified as a merchant who has used IPN endpoints within the past year. If you have not made the necessary changes, we urge you to do so right away to avoid a disruption of your service!
Because these changes are technical in nature, we advise that you consult with your individuals responsible for your PayPal integration. They will be able to identify what, if any, changes are needed. Please share this email and the hyperlinks below with your technical contact for evaluation.
Testing in the Sandbox is one of the best ways to make sure your integration works. Sandbox endpoints have been upgraded to accept secure connections by the SHA-256 Certificates.
Full technical details can be found in our Merchant Security System Upgrade Guide. In addition, our 2015-2016 SSL Certificate Change microsite contains a schedule of our service upgrade plan.
Thanks for your patience as we continue to improve our services.

Hi,
I don't understand your message in that topic ; nothing related at all.
But you can see that thread : www.hikashop.com/forum/install-update/87...rchant-security.html
Or that one : www.hikashop.com/forum/payment-methods/8...ificate-sha-256.html
Which talk about the exact same subject.
