Hi,
It is an error returned by Virtual Merchant.
The message is probably wrong. The merchant id is supplied as you can see in the xml so it's probably that the id is wrong, or that it is for the test mode, not the live mode, or vice-versa.
The best is to contact the support or Virtual Merchant in order to check the merchant id with them. If you show the the same thing that in your message and ask them if the merchant id is correct, they should be able to tell you what to do.

It was a two-fold problem. First, I had to modify the VirtualMerchant plugin to restore the original links as the authorization process was sending XML. Second, they required AVS information and I had that disabled. Once I enabled that, everything worked.
