Checkout with Amazon plugin - debugging

To begin, please remove the old Pay with Amazon plugin from the Hikashop list of plugins, Amazon no longer supports that method of payment and I spent a day setting it up and a week trying to get in touch with Amazon for support when it didn't work.

I have now found that you have a Checkout with Amazon plugin available for Beta testing ( www.hikashop.com/support/support/documentation/332 ). I have installed and configured the plugin correctly according to your documentation, but it does not show up on the checkout page.

Let's use this feed to work through the issues and once fixed, I'll connect you with Amazon to get the plugin certified.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Amazon Pay. We'll remove it from the install package for the next version of HikaShop.

The Amazon Checkout payment plugin is not in beta. It was developed almost one year ago and it is stable since the beginning of 2016.
The issue you have with it is probably not a bug.
Like PayPal Express Checkout, Amazon Checkout functions differently from normal payment gateways. Their goal is to skip the checkout on your website so that the checkout happens on Amazon's pages. So instead of having the plugin display as a payment method on the payment methods selection area of the checkout, they display a "checkout with amazon" button directly on the cart display of the checkout and the cart module so that the customer can skip the whole checkout.
Thus, if you're wondering why you don't see the payment method in the payment method selector, then that's because it's how it is supposed to be.
And if you're wondering why you don't see the "checkout with amazon" button on the cart, then it's probably because the cart view file has been modified in a way which prevents the payment plugin from adding its button there.

I have only made modifications to the after_end and end pages on the checkout views.

Would these prevent it from showing the checkout with amazon button?

Hi,

No, these wouldn't prevent that.
Try switching to the default template of Joomla and see if you get the button in that case.
Also, in the settings of your payment method, check that you didn't set any restriction which might prevent the button from displaying.

I set the checkout page to Protostar and checked to make sure that no restrictions were configured and the button did not show up. I wonder if it's because I installed an older version of the plugin from another forum before realizing it was within the hikashop software. So, I reinstalled hikashop 3.6.4 to double check and it's still not working. The version of the plugin that is installed is:

If you don't see the button with protostar and you believe you've correctly configured the plugin, please provide a backend access and the steps to reproduce the issue with a link to the shop and to this thread via our contat form so that we can look at the situation:

Hello Hikashop team,

I wanted everyone to be aware that starting April 1st, 2017, "Checkout by Amazon" will no longer be supported and people will not be able to order through the website any longer. Amazon's new service is "Pay with Amazon".

Is the Hikashop team working on a new plug-in for "Pay with Amazon"?

During the last Amazon transition, our company helped with getting the plug-in going. We would be happy to do it again so we don't lose sales and customers. Please let me know.

Right now, the plugin is in beta test and you can request a plugin in order to process some tests by yourself.
For this, contact us on our website form, here and ask for it, note that on your side you must make "evolve" your amazon account in order to get the required references for Pay with Amazon.
All returns good or bad will be appreciate.
