How does the creditcard modul work?

Hi so I was wondering how the creditcard modul works?

Hello,

The plugin do not have specific documentation because it does not have specific settings.
In the payment plugin list, you will see:

Credit card (collect of the information for manual processing)

So the plugin is just asking the customer his credit card information and store it with the order.
That is made to process the payment manually ; so it is not something which can be used in every countries (due to laws and legal rights).

We don't know Switzerland laws regarding that.
The first question is : Do you have a mean to process the payments manually with your bank ?
If you do, then it's likely allowed in your country or your bank wouldn't offer that service.
The process is like that:
- the customer place an order with his credit card details
- you are notified by email of the order. Half of the credit card details is in the email and half is in the order details page on your website backend.
- you process the payment thanks to the credit card details on your bank payment terminal
- you delete the credit card details on the order and delete the email notification with the other half
- you change the status of the order to confirmed and notify the customer that his order has been confirmed.

If you use a payment gateway, like Postfinance or PayPal, that process will be automatic.
