Is it possible to set up the payment methods in such a way that no payment costs are charged if the amount exceeds a certain amount?

Hello,

Sure, you'll just have to configure 2 payment methods via "Hikashop->System->Payment methods" and use the following options : "Prices / Minimum price / Maximum price".
So that the proper payment method will be available based on the order price.
