Hello everyone,
I have a problem with PayPal payments in HikaShop and hope someone can help me.

When I click on "PayPal" in the shopping cart, a small popup with a blank white page always appears, which shouldn't happen. If I close this window, another small popup appears with the prompt "Confirm your identity." There, I can choose to receive an SMS, but then an error message appears saying, "An error occurred."

The strange thing is: sometimes the payment works, but this error occurs quite often.

I have already checked the following:

The API settings for PayPal in HikaShop are correctly configured (Client ID and Secret).
HTTPS is active for the entire website.
I have disabled pop-up blockers and tested it in different browsers.
My PayPal account is active and unrestricted.
Still, the error persists. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this or what else I could check?

I think you have this issue:

Supposing that the buttons are displayed, if you click on the "PayPal" button and you don't get the PayPal payment popup, or you get a blank popup on top of the normal popup, it's likely you have a problem with the Cross Origin Opener Policy of your website. You need to configure your HTTP headers plugin, via the Joomla plugins manager and change its "Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy" setting to allow for it.

vielen Dank für eure Hilfe und die Anregungen! Ich wollte euch mitteilen, dass ich den Fehler gefunden habe.

Das Problem lag tatsächlich an den API-Einstellungen im PayPal-Plugin von HikaShop. Nachdem ich die Einstellungen überprüft und korrigiert habe, funktioniert jetzt alles einwandfrei. Insbesondere hatte ich die falsche Umgebung (Sandbox statt Live-Modus) eingestellt, was das weiße Popup und die Fehlermeldungen verursacht hat.

Ich habe alles nochmal getestet, und jetzt klappt die Zahlung reibungslos – keine weißen Popups mehr, und die Zahlung wird erfolgreich abgeschlossen.

Thank you for your help and suggestions! I wanted to let you know that I found the error.

The problem was actually due to the API settings in the HikaShop PayPal plugin. After checking and correcting the settings, everything is now working fine. In particular, I had set the wrong environment (sandbox instead of live mode), which caused the white popup and error messages.

I tested everything again and now the payment works smoothly - no more white popups and the payment is completed successfully.
