Pre-sales question: Adyen - SHA 256 plugin and recurring payments in HikaSubscri

Dear HikaShop Support,

We are considering using your “Adyen - SHA 256 by HikaShop” plugin in combination with HikaSubscriptions, but we have an important question before we proceed.

Is it possible to configure automatic recurring payments (direct debit) using this plugin, in such a way that the subscription is automatically renewed without creating a new subscription each time?

We have built a custom validation page that uses a QR code linked to the subscription ID, and it is critical that this subscription (and its ID) remains the same after each renewal. If a new subscription is created at each renewal, the QR code link would break.

Could you confirm if your plugin supports this workflow, and if so, whether any specific setup is required?

Hi,

Recurring payments are only possible with payment plugins expressly developed to support that capability. In such a case, this is usually mentioned.
So the Adyen plugin doesn't support it.
Actually the Adyen plugin was developed for the Adyen HPP API, and from what I can see on their website, they don't support it anymore:

I've removed the plugin from our marketplace.

Supporting recurring payments with Adyen would require the development of a brand new payment plugin from scratch.

I would recommend using the PayPal Recurring plugin included in HikaSerial.

No, the ePay plugin we have on our marketplace also supports it, however, it is only for the Danish market, as far as I understand:

Another user expressly paid us to develop it with recurring payments support.
